Dr. J. J. Rawal
Dr. J. J. Rawal has received M.Sc. degree (Applied Mathematics), M.Sc. (P u r e Mathematics) both from University of Mumbai, M. Phil. from University of Calcutta through Satyendranath Bose Institute of Physical Sciences and Ph.D. from University of Mumbai through TIFR in Astrophysics under the supervision of Professor J. V. Narlikar, Professor Sukumar Biswas. Dr. Rawal was born in Halvad, a small town of Surendranagar District of Gujarat on March 30, 1943. Dr. Rawal was Director Research, Nehru Planetarium and also Director of Nehru Planetarium of Nehru Centre, Worli, Mumbai. He was the President of Janseva Kendra, Borivali during the year 2000 - 2017. He was the Vice-Chairman and then Chairman of the Indian Physics Association (Mumbai Chapter) during 1992- 2001. Professor Rawal is now President of the Indian Planetary Society. Read more...

To create scientific temper and nurture interest amongst the young minds for scientific research. To publish science newsletters, books on science and allied subjects.

What do we offer?
The Indian Planetary Society is a well-equiped scientific organization. We have powerful telescopes to show you the planets, moons and other interesting and fascinating heavenly bodies. Such sky-shows can be arranged in the terrace of a building or any open ground. Along with the sky-show there will also be a question-answer session to address your queries. If required, we can arrange a lecture by scientist associated with us. To arrange one at your premises, call us for more details.
